Résumé: Notes of the mini-course 'Aspects of statistical mechanics of random surfaces' (IHP, Fall 2001). They include an overview of the field and a detailed self--contained analysis (1) of the entropic repulsion for harmonic crystals in dimension larger than two and (2) of the wetting phenomena for models that enjoy a continuum symmetry.
